President Joko Widodo inaugurated several new officials within the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet on Monday, August 19, 2024. The officials included Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and Hasan Nasbi as the Head of the Presidential Communication Office. The ceremony took place at the State Palace in Jakarta, marking a crucial part of the cabinet refreshment as the 2019-2024 term nears its end.
Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, a prominent businessman and diplomat, now leads investment and capital placement coordination in Indonesia. As the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, Rosan is expected to leverage his experience to enhance domestic investment flows, support economic growth, and create job opportunities. His appointment is based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 92/P of 2024.
Hasan Nasbi was appointed as the Head of the Presidential Communication Office through Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 93/P of 2024. Hasan, responsible for presidential communications, will play a key role in conveying government policies and programs to the public, as well as maintaining government-community communication relations.
President Jokowi’s appointment of these two figures demonstrates his commitment to strengthening his team with individuals who have relevant experience and capabilities in their respective fields. During the ceremony, President Jokowi led the oath of office taken by Rosan and Hasan, emphasizing integrity, responsibility, and commitment in their duties.
“I pledge loyalty to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will execute all laws and regulations faithfully for my service to the nation and state. In performing my duties, I will uphold the ethics of the office, work to the best of my abilities, and with full responsibility,” President Jokowi dictated the oath.
The inauguration event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and coordinating ministers such as Hadi Tjahjanto and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Guests also extended their congratulations to the newly appointed officials.
